He has done schooling from St. John’s High School Ranchi and Intermediate Science from St. Xavier’s College Ranchi and is recipient of National Merit Scholarship. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Sindri and MBA with specialization in Marketing from BIT Mesra. He has worked in Bureau of Indian Standards (Under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food &  Public Distribution), Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd., Ranchi and Bihar Alloy Steels Limited. He retired from BIS as Sc. ‘F’ and Head, BIS Kolkata in November 2018. He has wide experience and knowledge across various industrial sectors, budgeting and financial management, work plans, business practices etc. and has worked in diverse areas like Design Development, Maintenance, Materials Management, Imports and Capital Equipment, Project Management and Collaboration Agreements, Process Flow, Process control, Logistics, Standardization, Conformity Assessment, Management Systems, Hallmarking, Sustainability, etc. Lead auditor for QMS and OHSAS.

During his service he has interacted and coordinated with various stake holders such as Industry, State and Central Government Ministries/Offices/Departments on certification, technical & quality, statutory and regulatory issues. Developed many Quality Assurance Plans, Standard Operative Procedures, Conformity Assessment policies and guidelines & code of practice towards sustainable growth. He possesses strong management, administration, interpersonal and communication skills.

He has adequate global exposure. Under conformity assessment operated by BIS, he carried out technical audits in countries such as USA, Brazil, South Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. He is aware and conversant with best of the manufacturing practices followed and skill requirement. He has been involved in and conducted various types of Awareness, Training and Skill upgradation programmes.
